The Chemical Brothers

The Chemical Brothers united such varying influences as Public Enemy, Cabaret Voltaire, and My Bloody Valentine to create a dance-rock-rap fusion which rivalled the best old-school DJs on their own terms -- keeping a crowd of people on the floor by working through any number of groove-oriented styles featuring unmissable samples. And when the duo (Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons) decided to supplement their DJ careers by turning their bedrooms into recording studios, they pioneered a style of music (later termed big beat) remarkable for its lack of energy loss from the dancefloor to the radio. Chemical Brothers albums were less collections of songs and more hourlong journeys.

The Chems have mixed nearly all their album material at Miloco Studios. In fact we've been a home away from home. They like us so much they used to have a programming room here, which was a handy walk across the hall from The Engine Room - their first choice mixing studio.

Miloco Releases

Released 10th September 2007

# The Chemical Brothers - 'Salmon Dance'
Possibly one of the most outlandish tunes The Chems have ever conjured up, 'Salmon Dance' is reminiscent of any old nursery rhyme about a fish, warped through some tripped-out time machine to when martians were celebrating 1960s psychedelia. Brilliant.

'Salmon Dance' is the second single from The Chemical Brothers' 'We Are The Night' album, which was worked on throughout 2006 and 2007 in The Engine Room, Toyshop and Garden with Interface engineer Steve Dub.

Released 2nd July 2007

It's their sixth studio album, and it consists of all the trademarks - thumping beats, steaming basslines, catchy dance melodies and special guests. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons pull another cracker out of the bag.

The Chemical Brothers mixed their forthcoming album in The Engine Room throughout 2006 and the start of 2007, with Interface engineer Steve Dub. They also used The Toyshop and The Garden for vocals.

Released 18th June 2007

# The Chemical Brothers - 'Do It Again'
The first single from the legendary dance duo's sixth album has been pumping around the airwaves and download charts for some time leading up to the physical release. What makes it extra special to Miloco is that it features the funked-up vocals of another one of our clients, one Ali Love.

The Chemical Brothers mixed their forthcoming album in The Engine Room throughout 2006 and the start of 2007, with Interface engineer Steve Dub. They also used The Toyshop and The Garden for vocals.

Released 2nd May 2005

# The Chemical Brothers - 'Believe'
The Chemical Brothers second single from their fantastic Push The Button album. 'Believe' features the vocals of Kele from Bloc Party and in our eyes was one of our favourite tracks on the album.

The single was mixed in the Neve room in 2004 with engineer Steve Dub.

Released 24th January 2005

# The Chemical Brothers - 'Push The Button'
This album saw the Chemical Brothers back to block rockin' best form and was an instantaneous number one album. It was mixed through the course of 2004 in our flagship mix environment, The Engine Room, with Steve 'Dub' Jones at the controls. This quality release is just the latest in a long, long line that The Chemical Brothers have mixed here at Miloco.

Released 2nd January 2005

# The Chemical Brothers - 'Galvanize'
Chemical Brothers return with 'Galvanize', a full blooded pulsing dancefloor anthem, featuring the vocal talents of US rapper Q-tip. From its pounding bass to its classic breakdown, it is the Chemical Brothers at their prime.

'Galvinize' is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming new studio album 'Push the Button'. The single was mixed in The Engine Room in 2004 with engineer Steve 'Dub' Jones.
