Today we’re heading over to the heart of vibrant and creative East London to shine our spotlight on The Way vintage recording studio. The Way is regarded as one of the finest tracking and mixing facilities in the area and has recently attracted the likes of Mark Ronson, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, The Horrors, Jamie Woon, Tinchy Stryder, The Future Sound of London and Katy B.
Studio A was expertly designed by White Mark acousticians, who also built Real World Studios and The Hit Factory. The control room is based around a beautiful Vintage Custom Neve 8078 that is regularly regarded as one of the most classic and best-sounding tracking consoles ever produced. This particular board was one of the very last Neve 80 series hand-wired desks, and was made in the 1970s ‘era of engineering perfection’. The Way’s live room is perfect for tracking bands and has a particularly warm, punchy and popular drum sound. The studio’s meticulous design allows the main tracking space to be perfectly positioned in relation to two additional isolation booths, which provide some completely different acoustic options. The Way also offers an affordable Online Mixing service which is perfect for clients working with a tight budget but who do not want to compromise the quality of the mix. This service also allows clients around the world to have tracks mixed on this very rare vintage Neve. Simply send your track in by post or via the web and you can expect a finished mix sent back to you within seven days of payment.
Located in London Fields, The Way is in the thick of the East London action. This is a part of town synonymous with music, art, alternative fashion and fantastic nightlife. There is an abundance of pubs, bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the neighbouring areas of Shoreditch, Hoxton and Brick Lane, whereas the creative Broadway Market and open green spaces of London Fields, with its popular lido, are a stone’s throw from the studio.
