30 seconds from Highbury and Islington tube, and nestled down a delightful cobbled street, Miloco's The Yard is a superb 'in the box' Pro Tools mix environment for those who need an affordable mixing option. 

We have designed the room to be equally capable at mixing, 5.1 mixing, writing, programming or overdubbing. In 2013 we linked up with DMZ Live (the best live recording company) and set the room up around a Pro Tools HD6 Accel rig with a Digidesign C24 digital console acting as a control surface that feeds the 5.1 monitoring sytem. 

This large, air-conditioned but atmospheric control room (564 sq ft) is a chilled and stylish space, complete with gentle mood lighting, soft blue/purple decor and a comfy leather sofa. The studio includes an en suite booth (106 sq ft) that comfortably swallows a drum kit, and there's a newly decorated rec room with television, more sofas and an adjacent kitchenette. 

Clients using The Yard as a writing studio will have at their disposal a large selection of gear that has recently been enhanced with the arrival of DMZ Live. There are 10-12 Mic Pre's including brands such as Neve, Chandler, Amek and Drawmer; some great EQs from Neve and Summit; compressors including Urei, DBX, Focusrite and SSL; and a large number of classic reverbs from the likes of Lexicon, TC Electronics and AMS and a lot lot more.

The Pro Tools rig is a beast. Running with an HD Core card and 5 Accel Cards it can cope with the most challenging of mixes. For those who want to keep everything completely digital it also comes fully loaded with plug-ins including Waves, Sony Oxford, Auto-tune, Bomb Factory, Abbey Road and many more.

If you need to record vocals, or a quick guitar, or a synth, there is lots here for you to use. The studio comes equipped with both acoustic and electric guitars, amps and a couple of classic vintage synths - a Moog Prodigy and Korg MS-10. For vocals there are a choice of mics including a Neumann U87, Peluso Valve Mic, AKG 414 or Sanken CU41s.

The Yard is a great little studio in a very handy location.
